NEA PEMA SALA CAVE, Panch Pokhari

The allegedly large cave Nea Pema Sala (or so) is not only dark inside but also spacious (Tashi Sherpa from the Snow Lion House, Bouddha, a native from Tharkegyang, 1991 personal communication). ETYMOLOGY: The Nepali -nera, neri- (adjective) means nearSITUATION: Somewhere above Panch Pokhari (Five Lakes), on the north-south running Panch Pokhari Lekh (note 1), also called Mt. Dorje Lakpa, the catchment area of the Panch Pokhari Khola (river), which constitutes, together with the Yangri Khola and Larke Khola, the main headwaters of Indrawati river in the eastern part of Helambu. The smaller –>Panch Pokhari Cave 2 lies somewhere below the lakes.
