Location
From the jetty on Ko Phi Phi Don walk along the beach as far as the cliffs on the southern side of the bay. Then follow a path that goes for 150 m, above the sea, before climbing 50 m up a steep path to a ledge at the entrance.
Description
The entrance is 25 m wide and 10 m high. The cave has many bamboo ladders and scaffolds built by bird's-nest collectors. The main chamber has about 50, probably modern paintings, of boats, elephants and dancers. The cave begins with a descending passage 30 m wide by 20 m high before it divides into two fine passages which rejoin in a big chamber (120 m long by 60 m wide by 50 m high). Two climbs were carried out by the original explorers: one high up to the left reaches a big passage 60 m long, the other is a chimney which went up 35 m. The floor of the cave has large deposits of bat guano and two large grey-white coloured snakes were seen 200 m from the entrance.
