PEMAGATSHEL, 1st (Cave near)

Description
NOTE 1: »I have visited at Pemagatshel a gypsum mine, the gypsum formation clearly being a palaeokarst overlain by a very thick soily clastic horizon. Nevertheless it was possible to see nicely fluted pipes and some reasonable karren. One cave [see below: Cave at –>Pemagatsel 2] was reported locally but nobody seemed to quite know where it was. A number of springs can be seen in the area and one small vadose cave with attendant burial cones [tsha tsha] as one descends the road to the village of Pemagatshel« (YONGE 1993). NOTE 2: »Pemagatshel« (YONGE 1993: 16) or »Pennagatzel« (YONGE 1993: 16 photograph legend) is indicated as »Pemagatsel« on the India Road Atlas (Eicher Goodearth 2006: 28 C4) near (±25 km) N27°: E091°30' but not shown on the AMS sheets NG46-01, NG46-02, NG46-05 or NG46-06.
