Description
A small shrine, along with sculptures of the five Pandavas, is housed in a small cave above the two large ones reported NORONHA (2003: 22, 24, with photograph showing phototrophic open-air stalactites (speleothems) from what appears to represent a karstic situation above an hydrologically impervious base, at Pandav Falls (note 1), 32 km (along the road?) from Khajuraho (24°51'N: 79°56'E) on the road to Panna (N24°43': E080°12'): Cool and deliciously sweet water drips down through the year from the craggy cliff face. [Cave legend] It is believed that Arjuna shot an arrow into the mountain to draw water and it has been gushing ever since. What is mystifying is that the plateau above it is arid, and there is no trace of water anywhere.A small shrine, along with sculptures of the five Pandavas, is housed in a small cave above the two large ones reported NORONHA (2003: 22, 24, with photograph showing phototrophic open-air stalactites (speleothems) from what appears to represent a karstic situation above an hydrologically impervious base, at Pandav Falls (note 1), 32 km (along the road?) from Khajuraho (24°51'N: 79°56'E) on the road to Panna (N24°43': E080°12'): Cool and deliciously sweet water drips down through the year from the craggy cliff face.
