Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018

One of the so-called Batura Glacier Caves (note 1) which are no glacier caves at all, reported BROOKS (1993c: 3, 1994c: 14). ETYMOLOGY: The interesting Pop Shikargah (BROOKS 1993c: 3, 1994c: 14) is possibly a corrupted version of -Put Shikhar Gah- or -Hunter's Lodge at Put-. Another place further up the valley is called Put Mahal (Put Palaca). IDENTITY: To be or not to be, that's the question, but the circumstances are too unclear to decide if Pop Shikargah (BROOKS 1993c: 3, 1994c: 14) is the same as –>Norghudum Yothh (Brooks 1993) and –>Norghudum Yothh (A.A.). SITUATION: At an unclear location either at Yaspert (note 2) itself or opposite across the valley from this place where the Batura Glacier joins one of it's tributary glaciers or valleys (possibly the Shikhar Gah or Hunter's Stream): Pop Shikarga – At the joining of the Batura Glacier with one of the tributary glaciers [valleys?] at a place referred to as the ridge that faces [note 3] 'Yaspert' on the 'old' treking path. Here is to be found another cave referred to as Norghudum Yothh or 'the nest of the bear'.ing path. Here is to be found another cave referred to as Norghudum Yothh or 'the nest of the bear'.
