»A curious natural bridge of stone between the points where the Rathu and Siri rivers join the Ramman [note 1] - one of the tributaries of the Great Rangit which takes its rise under the Phalut peak in the Singalila range, which forms the western boundary of the district« of Darjeeling (O'MALLEY 1906: 7-8).

NOTE 1: One village of Ramman is shown near N27°12': E88°05' on AMS sheet NG45-03 Kanchenjunga (U502 series, 1963 edition) at a spot about 8 km in a direct line south-west of Phalut (also: Phalilung N27°13': E88°02' nima.mil/geonames, accessed 16.11.2003) and on a tributary from the right (south-west) to the Great Rangit River, mouth at N27°05': E88°26' (nima.mil/geonames accessed 16.11.2003) on AMS sheet NG45-03; not to be confused with the Rangit River (Rangit Chu, Rangnyit), mouth at N27°08': E88°17' (nima.mil/geonames accessed 16.11.2003) on AMS sheet NG45-03 Kanchenjunga (U502 series, 1963 edition).
