Two entrances to caves, lined up on top of each other, appear to be similar to the Cave 1 at –>Pisang because they are both developed by frost shattering at a corresponding elevation (circa 3400 m asl) and along a pair of more or less parallel tectonical disturbances along a thrust. Obvious traces of glacial scratching (grooving, fluting) are visible only at altitudes below the elevation of Cave 2 at Pisang. It looks as if the cave has once opened to the glacier's surface. The pair of caves is situated in the south face of Pisang Peak (Jong Ri, N28°39': E084°12') and some 4 or 5 km due east (downstream) of the two Pisang villages (N28°36': E084°14') where the Marsyangdi Khola takes a right angle turn to the south and forms a magnificant, south-west facing amphi-theatre (N28°35': E084°12'). Here, the cave entrances are visible from the main trail along the right (southern) bank of Marsyangdi Khola (valley) but lie high above the left (northern) bank and in the first tribuary from the left (north) upstream of the amphi-theatre.
