Description
STEIN (1901: 87-89) gives a full description of his identification of Cock's Foot Mountain or –>Kukkutapadagiri (note 1) with the Sobnath Hill (note 2), the highest peak in a range of hills further south-west from Kurkihar, about 22.5 km (STEIN 1901) south-west of Bodhgaya (Bodh Gaya), and 6 km from Wazirganj (N24°48': E85°14'). STEIN (1901), however, had difficulties in finding any cave there: In the confused masses of rocks heaped up all along the crest lines of the three spurs we can look for the passages which Kasyapa was supposed to have opened up with his staff.STEIN (1901: 87-89) gives a full description of his identification of Cock's Foot Mountain or –>Kukkutapadagiri (note 1) with the Sobnath Hill (note 2), the highest peak in a range of hills further south-west from Kurkihar, about 22.5 km (STEIN 1901) south-west of Bodhgaya (Bodh Gaya), and 6 km from Wazirganj (N24°48': E85°14').
