Description
An unspecified cave called Krem Urcha is said to be situated somewhere in the vicinity of the village of Pala (25°24'43”N: 92°34'09”E). ETYMOLOGY: The Khasi verb -ur- means to slip, to fall (SINGH, N 1906: 243) but the expression -cha- is problematic as theor exists no letter -c- in the Khasi alphabet and hence no -ch- is possible, except it is intended to stand for the letter -j-. The Khasi noun -[ka] ja- is boiled rice (SINGH, N 1906: 95).
