Description
An unexplored cave associated with a Hindu temple dedicated to an unidentified goddess or god is said to exist in the vicinity of a village called Baradi (DUCLUZAUX 1993d: 25). ETYMOLOGY: No autochthonous, indigenous or locally known name has been identified for what has been christened »Baradi Gupha« (DUCLUZAUX 1993d: 25) after a village of that name. SITUATION: East of Dumre and Bimalnagar / Bimal Nagar (note 1) and not only above the orographically right (locally southern) bank of the Marsyangdi Khola but also south above the Prithivi Highway (Kathmandu - Pokhara road), somehow "further east" from an unidentified starting point (note 2) but above a certain village of »Baradi« (note 3) and in an unspecified spatial relation to an unidentified, well-placed temple (note 4).
NOTE 1: »Bimal Nagar 450 m« (DUCLUZAUX 1993d: 19 croquis de situation) is indicated as »Bimalnagar« near (±500 m) N27°56'47”: E084°26'05” on the Central Service map 38 Tanahun (1989 edition) about 2 km or 3 km along the Prithivi Highway approximately east-southeast from Dumre (N27°57'25”: E084°24'45”). NOTE 2: Probably east of –>Patal Dwar (N27°56'45.2”: E084°25'48.2”: 456 m asl THAPA, S 2010.05.15: 26) or 560 m asl (DUCLUZAUX, B 1993d: 25, 29). NOTE 3: What DUCLUZAUX (1993d: 25) calls »village de Baradi« is not indicated on the Central Service Map 38 Tanahun (1989 edition) but shown at a linear distance corresponding to 14 cm on an unidentified scale approximately ESE from »Bimal Nagar« on Ducluzaux's location map (DUCLUZAUX 1993d: 19 croquis de situation des cavites de la region de Dumre). NOTE 4: »J'ai pu voir de loin un temple bien placé pour être l'entrée d'une grotte« (DUCLUZAUX 1993d: 25).
