Description
Among the »Caves near Gorlagootla« (FOOTE, R B 1884a: 33 marginal note) are »… two other caves of moderate size to the westward of Gorlagootla [sic!] … One of them was said to occur in the valley of Gorlagootla stream [Muchchatla vagu], and will probably be found in connection with a very fine group of limestone cliffs standing on the north side of the stream« (FOOTE, R B 1884a: 33-34). Later on, both of these »two other caves west of Gorlogunta [Gollagutta] … were visited by Lieutenant [Henry Bruce] Foote early in 1984« (FOOTE, R B 1885: 235). IDENTITY: Little doubt remains that this cave is identical with one of the caves above the north (south-facing, orographically left) bank of the Muchchatla Vagu: –>Boya Dari, –>Chintamanu Gavi (Passimani vanka; also: Chintamani Gavi, Chintamani Gavi Cave), –>Errabadde Gavi 1, –>Errabadde Gavi 2, –>Errabadde Gavi 3, –>Jangalu Gavi (Jan Galu Gavi), –>Muchchatla Chintamanu Gavi, or –>Nemmicheli Gavi (Nemmala Silla Gavi, Nemmalasilla Gavi).
