Description
The suspicious place name Nandi Gave State Forest (Nandi Cave State Forest), apparently reflecting the presence of a sacred cave (temple cave) associated with Nandi (the bull of Shiva), is shown in a remote area near (±10 km) N13°34': E75°37 (Everest 1830) on the Survey of India sheet 48-O/10 (edition 1979) on the north-western flank of the Baba Budan Hills and above the left (eastern) shores of the Bhadra Reservoir (maximum flood flood level 657 m asl) --in the waters of which the cave might have been drowned?
