An unspecified cave entrance (unidentified shape, unidentified dimensions, unidentified orientation, unidentified characteristics) was said to give access to an unidentified cave called Krem Phlang as noted and spelled by Ba Spindro (Jarratt, Anthony 'Tony' R 2002.04.20 personal correspondence). IDENTITY: Unknown but the Krem Phlang near the village of Mutang is possibly the same as –>Cat Cave but the only way to reveal the truth of the correct position, etc. would be to drag him [Spindro Dkhar, Lumshnong] along to the site (Jarratt 2002.04.20 personal correspondence). ETYMOLOGY: The origin of the Khasi cave name Krem Phlang is known (or not) to remain obscured in the home of thick fog, also known as the abode of clouds, but the noun -ka [ri-] phlang- was said to signify the grass land (GURDON, P R T 1906: 39) and -u phlang- as such, binomial imitative -u phlang u kynbat- (note 1), has not only been translated as the grass (SINGH, N 1906: 157; SINGH, N 1920: 206; BLAH, E 2007: 120 OLDHAM, T 1854 / 1984 appendix C: lxvi) but also as the straw (OLDHAM, T 1854 / 1984 appendix C: lxviii) or a tussock (BLAH, E 2007: 316).SITUATION: Unknown. In an unspecified setting and at an unidentified location which lies somewhere in the vicinity of the village of Mutang (25°11'00”N: 92°21'20”E) and about a kilometre on foot south-west of Lumshnong.
