Description
An unspecified cave at an unspecified location somewhere on Lum Manar reported Larsing Sukhlain already on 1999.04.02 but it has not yet been tracked down and remains to be identified till today (January 2010). ETYMOLOGY: SINGH, N (1906) lists neither "rwan" (note 1) nor "sinke" (note 2) but there is an almost homonymous cave called Krem –>Rwan Synkei near the village of Sielkan (±250 m 25°11'47”N: 92°27'12”E: ca. (±25 m) 480 m). NOTE 1: The Khasi verb ”rwa” means »to be diminished; to become less (in quantity)« (SINGH, N 1906: 177), the verb ”rwái” is synonymous with ”ruwai, ruái” and means »to sing« (SINGH, N 1906: 177), and noun ”ka rwiang” is synonymous with "ka bok" and means »the luck« (SINGH, N 1906: 177).. NOTE 2: The Khasi ”ka synket” is »a precipice« (SINGH, N 1906: 215).
