Like –>Shitalpur Cave, the Malmalpur Cave is said to represent an extra ordinary but otherwise unspecified (natural or man.made?) sort of a cave (note 1) with a beautiful drinking source inside (note 2), which is not only used to get rid of plastic and paper wrappings and to throw more or less emptied food packages but also to litter the vicinity with PET drinking water bottles (note 3). SITUATION: Apparently close to –>Shitalpur Cave and at a distance of 3 km (gumla.nic.in/palkot_blk.html) in an unspecified direction from the small town of Palkot (note 4), which itself lies at a travelling distance of about 25 km along the National Highway NH23 approximately SSE from Gumla (N23°03': E084°33'). IDENTITY: Internet websites report from Palkot (N22°53': E084°39') not only the Malmalpur Cave but also a –>Shitalpur Cave in addition to a cave called –>Chordtalla (sacred to Bajrang Bali / Bajrangbali). These may represent one and the same item but coilnet.bitmesra.net (accessed 2007.1.24) seems to distinguish three distinct caves when stating that there is a cave in Palkot named Chordtalla that has space of 300 people to sit. There is an attractive statue of God Bajrangbali. There is another caves called Shitalpur and Malmalpur these are famous for cool air. From one of these three caves or so, coilnet.bitmesra.net (accessed 2007.11.24) advertises a statue of Goddess Durga. The natural scenery these places are very beautiful. There is a natural tube well having 3 Inch [7.62 cm] diameter and such a small tube well gives cold and pure water throughout the year.
