Description
»… a dissected promotory of steep cliffs of white and cream-coloured foraminiferal limestone forms a striking feature of this south-eastern coast. No definite stratification is observed, the rock surface weathering in honey-comb form« (GEE, E R 1926: 226-227, plate 13). SITUATION: »At the northern point of Hut Bay« (GEE, E R 1926) in the southern third of the east coast on Little Andaman Island (note 1).
NOTE 1: Compare the –>Novara Bay Honey-Comb where »… evidence of recent uplift is seen … on the west coast near Novara Bay … in the cliff 25 feet [7.6 m] high of cream-coloured honey-combed limestone very similiar to that found at Hut Bay« (GEE, E R 1926: 229-230).
