Description
A artesian spring reported ADYALKAR & PHADTARE (1972: 385) from somewhere near Kharora (N21°25': E081°56'): »Where limestones are located below shaly horizons under confined conditions, the groundwater shoots up under artesian condition, as observed at Kharora, Kirna and Raipur proper.«
NOTE 1: Kharora N21°25': E081°56' (nima.mil/geonames accessed 16.11.2003) on AMS sheet NF44-11 Raipur (U502 series, 1960 edition) and in the India Road Atlas (Eicher Goodearth 2006: 73 H5) lies 29 km along the road south-east of Simga (N21°38': E081°42' WGS84).
