Description

Martin Ellis - 10/08/2019

The village itself is named after a shallow overhang which used to be occupied by a hermit. The floor of the overhang is littered with bones and pieces of pottery and is almost certainly a prehistoric habitation site. A few curious 'donut'-shaped stones which are probably also of prehistoric origin have been collected by the locals and placed on the shrine.
