NOTE 1: The concrete dam was only on one single occasion GPS positioned and then with a poor precision error near 25°15'09.9"N: 91°19'02"E: 1087 m (unreliable Magellan 2000XL 4-channel GPS). NOTE 2: [ba] khongpong (Khasi; adjective, adverb and preposition) contrariwise, topsy-turvy (SINGH, N 1906: 34); downward, headlong, inversely (SINGH, N 1920: 138, 215); athwart, upside-down (BLAH, E 2007: 20, 321) . NOTE 3: ka phúd (SINGH, N 1906: 158; BLAH, E 2007: 28), ka phot (MAMALLAN et al. 1995), ka phod (Kharpran Daly, B D 2009.09.11 Mss: Here are a few more caves; Kharpran Daly, B D 2010.02.02 Mss: Krem Rida) the bed of a stream, a mountain gorge (SINGH, N 1906: 158). ka phud wah (SINGH, N 1920: 40) stream bed. A cave used to supply water is situated in a certain Khongpong Valley (), which lies at an unspecified location somewhere on Lum Iawpaw, the hill above Nongnah (schoolhouse 25°15'56.8”N: 91°19'32.9”E: 1017.9 m, unidentified precision error, Scott Linn, undated December 2002, GPS Garmin Etrex). A »concrete dam [note 1] below the cave permits [or premitted in December 2002] the flow of at least 0.6 cubic m / min« (Zawada 2004.04.21, 2004.02.24 personal correspondence) equalling 10 ltr/sec (estimated?). ETYMOLOGY: No specific cave name has been identified for this cave called after a headlong (note 2) water course or "phud" (note 3). The cave name Krem Phud Khongpong, however, was not only translated as a rather a bizarre »Inverted Valley Cave [note 4] by Barbara A. am Ende but also as »Inverted Valley Stream Cave« (Zawada 21.04.2004 personal correspondence) and »Khongpong Stream Cave« (WARREN 2004: 20).
