Aiban Shongwan informed me of a pot hole [unidentified name] in the area called Ramsong near Mustoh village (Kharpran Daly 2009.09.11 Mss). ETYMOLOGY: ”ka rám” (noun, Khasi) designates the jungle which has been cleared for jhum cultivation (SINGH, N 1906: 170) and the verb ”song” means to pack, to tie up but -ka song” (noun) is not only the word for a bundle but also the name of a horn (trumpet) (SINGH, N 1906: 206).
