Description
A relatively »small« but otherwise unspecified cave with unidentified dimensions. SITUATION: On the way to the Adawa (Udawan) area (note 1) and in the vicinity of –>Royal Artillery Pot (Leakey 1946 June: Sketch map Bodhyar Pothole Map). APPROACH: »From the R.A. sink [Royal Artillery Sink] continue down SW valley to the left for 1/4 mile [400 m] until below a level of precipices. Skirt the foot of the precipice on Left (East) for 150 yds [140 m]. 'Blasted Hole' is at the top of a steep gully going up into the face of the precipice. ... It has a small 'crawl' entrance, which was blocked 6 ft in [1.8 m] by a piece of rock. This was blown on Aug.1.46 by a unit of the 2nd D.W.R. [Duke of Wellington's Regiment] & a small cave revealed beyond« (Leakey, R D 1946.08.20 letter to Glennie, E A).
