Description
According to the tradition of the Na-Khi people, a cave in a limestone rock near Li-Chiang was used as a dwelling place / troglodyte hermitage by a incarnation of the legendary Shi-lo-mi-wu (gShen-rabs-mi-bo, approx. 8th century), the systemiser of the Tibetan Bon religion (ROCK 1947, 1: 267, illus. 140). CULTURAL HISTORY: Bon rites are still performed at the frequently visited pilgrimage site.
