Description
An unspecified cave entrance is said to give access to the Amkhloo cave or Ka Krem Pubon Amkhloo which both BAZELY, P J (1992, 2: 73) and LALOO, S S (1995a: 4, 1995b: 4) count as the 5th of their eleven Syndai Caves. ETYMOLOGY: The name of the fifths definite cave near Syndai (Syndai Cave 5 Smart 2012 Mss) or Krem Amkhlow and Amkhloo cave (note 1) was understood to translate as Cave of the water in a deep valley / gorge or cave of the deep water [note 2] (Smart, C M 2013.03.11 -The definitive list of the caves of Syndai- after G. Parleyfort Pamthied, Syndai) but this is probably rather an interpretation of the cave's nature than a translation of the cave name. SITUATION 2012: The GPS position recorded on 21st February 2012 near (±19 m) N25.188551°: E92.14787°: 245 m asl (Mac 21/1/12) indicates a spot less than 1 km in a direct line approximately north west from the village of Syndai and in an area where Lakadong Limestone is exposed on the surface (NAG & PAL 1996 geological map).
