Length 13m
Location
Several caves can be found in this karst gorge. The smallest one is called Nawanja Cave (8°28'21,5° S - 038°49'39.2° E) that can be found in the right flank of the gorge if walking downstream the Mnubi valley.
Description
Nawanja consists of a rock-shelter like flat chamber and an adjacent crawl leading to the north. The chamber is filled with breakdown that has been used to built a waii at the entrance. The cave is entirely dry and just 13 m long. It is thought that Nawanja is identical with the „Verschütteten Höhle“ mentioned in Thurmann (1911). Thurmann reported that a human skull has been found inside the cave during his visit. No remains like that were observed during the 2000 survey.
