Description
Lohi Cave (27°56'23.9” N, 84°25'42.7” E) is located at the altitude of 1130 m. Chestnut Castanopis indica (Dhale Katus) dominates the surrounding vegetation (GHIMIRE, ACHARYA & THAPA 2011: 21). ETYMOLOGY: The meaning of -Lohi cave- has not yet been discovered (note 1). CAVE LIFE- bats (Chiroptera): Bat droppings were seen without presence of any bat at Lohi Cave during the day on 13th March [2010] (GHIMIRE, ACHARYA & THAPA 2011: 22).Lohi Cave (27°56'23.9” N, 84°25'42.7” E) is located at the altitude of 1130 m. History
EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2010.03.12-14: Rameshwor Ghimire, Sudeep Acharya and Sanjan Thapa from the SMCRF (Small Mammals Conservation and Research Foundation, Kathmandu New Baneshwor) and the Central Department of Environment Science (Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu Kirtipur) carried out a three days bat monitoring survey in Tanahun district … to update the recent information on the chiropteran species diversity, population and distribution … (GHIMIRE, ACHARYA & THAPA 2011: 20). On this occassion, they paid a visit to Lohi Cave (GHIMIRE et al. 2011: 21).
