Description
Wave-cut sea caves in the Shiwurdin Bay adjacent south-east to the town of Srivardhan / Shriwardham need the imminent attention of sea cavers and beach spelunkers because the rocks … are dark basalt and amygdaloid, imbedding zeoliths, geodes and veins of chalcedony and quartz. At the water's edge the basalt is much honeycombed (NEWBOLD, T J 1846b: 229). SITUATION: Shiwurdin Bay (NEWBOLD, T J 1846b: 229) or Srivardhan Bay (N18°02': E72°59' nima.mil/geonames accessed 16.11.2003) in front of the village of Srivardhan / Shriwardham (N18°02': E73°01' nima.mil/geonames accessed 16.11.2003), which falls on AMS sheet NE43-05 Bombay, U502 series, 1960 edition) and is indicated with a palm tree (symbol for beach) as Haritareshwan in the India Road Atlas (Eicher Goodearth 2006: 90 A4).
