Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018

A couple of cave entrances in conglomerate lie about 8 m above the trail along the orographically right (western) bank of Kali Gandaki river and upstream from Tukche on the way to Marpha (about 10 minutes walking distance south from the orchards of Marpha). One of them is a circular hole with two chorten hidden in the twilight inside. Local people, used to walk on steep slopes covered with debris, simply traverse from the trail ascending 50 m further south. Save acces is possible only with the help of more than 50 m of repeatedly rebelayed rope. To judge the cave's origin from below is not easy, but it looks like the relic of a now abandoned -sub-terracean- tributary to Kali Gandaki.
