SANKHU CAVE 1st

The lowest of the so-called caves at –>Sankhu is a man-made monolithic rock-chamber. It had been cut from a solitary boulder which, however, tumbled down in the course of a landslide and nowadays rests upside down to the left-hand side of the flight of steps ascending to Bajrayogini temple at Sankhu. A rock-cut lingam belonging to the cave's equipment is still visisble (1991.11.08).
