Description
An unidentified cave is suspected to consist, like the known caves nearby, of a gravitational (?) sandstone rift cave (not confirmed). ETYMOLOGY: Since the Khasi verb "ur" means »to slip, to fall« and the noun "ka ban" signifies »a dam, a bund« (SINGH, N 1906: 9, 243), the Khasi cave name "Synrang Ur Ban" seems to mean something along the lines of one »Cave [of the] Collapsed [Water Reservoir] Dam«. SITUATION: At an unidentified location somewhere in the vicinity of Krem –>Loren (WGS84, ±13 m N25°17'55”: E091°54'32”: circa 1350 m asl).
