Description
Another unexpectedly vertical shaft (compare: Krem –>Makyshimen) recorded Ende (2007.02.17 Mss) as a Krem Wah Diar from what is suspected to be the Wah Ktiar (in short: Wah 'Tiar) or Centipede Stream. ETYMOLOGY: The Khasi (ex Hindi) noun -ka tiar- is an instrument, a tool, a weapon, fittings while -u 'tiar- is an abbreviation of -uktiar- and means a centipede (SINGH, N 1906: 50, 231). Ende (2007.02.17 Mss) explains Diar - implement or instrument. SITUATION: To reach the cave entrance continue down the ridge from Makyshimen [note 1] keeping the doline on the right. Then make sure the deep valley is on the right. At that point you are in the jungle thrushing about. In addition to the cave entrance coordinates N25°22'30.5”: E92°33'19.1” (WGS84, fully imagined horizontal precicion error ±10 m): 924 m asl (GPS Garmin Etrex Legend) lists Ende (2007.02.17 Mss) a couple of anonymous GPS positions to get you there via unspecified points (note 2).
