Description
A curious rock shelter (3 m deep pit) in sandstone (Jarratt 2002.02.19 Mss: Krem Matynnom) consists of a 3 m deep hole to circa 5 m long rock shelter without identified shape, character or peculiarities and was declared not worth surveying (sic!). ETYMOLOGY: Jarratt (2002.02.19 Mss) recorded the cave name Krem Mawtynnom but SINGH (1904: 240) lists no Khasi word reminiscent of -tynnom- (or so). The verb -thynrón- means to be convalescent (SINGH, N 1906: 231). SITUATION: At an unknown location somewhere in jungle below football pitch [note 1], Mustoh village [note 2] (Jarratt 2002.02.19 Mss: Krem Matynnom).
