A man-made, dug-out troglodyte underground dwelling of unspecified nature (note 1), is (or, perhaps, was) situated somewhere outside of Delhi. CULTURAL HISTORY: Ibn BATTUTA (ca. 1355 for 1325-1354, edited by GIBB, H.A.R. 1929 reproduced 1998: 212): I had visited the shaykh Shiháb ad-Din in his cave outside Delhi. GIBB, H.A.R. (1929 reproduced 1998: 362 note 16): In a previous section, omitted in this edition, Ibn Battuta relates at length the history of Shaykh Shiháb ad-Din.
