Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018

Among an unidentified number of relatively many large depressions of unspecified size is a comparatively large crater (sic!) in the face of which Robert Eavis, Nicholas -Nick- Tringham and Adrian Albuica were able to notice an unidentified shape and unidentified dimensions combined with unidentified characteristics (anonymous Arbenz, T 2013.08.07 Mss: Meghalaya Expedition 2013 Diary: 7th February). ETYMOLOGY: The English noun crater (note 1) has been clothed into the Khasi words not only as -ka shyntur jong u lum-mih-ding- (SINGH, N 1920: 100), literally: the mouth [of a] hill issuing fire but also as -ka thliew lane ka shyntur jong u lum mihding- (BLAH, E 1007: 66), literally: the aperture / cavern / cavity / cell / depression / hole / hollow / kennel / pit or mouth [of a] hill issuing fire. SITUATION: At an unspecified location in an unidentified the valley floor of a stream with an unidentified name (anonymous Arbenz, T 2013.08.07 Mss: Meghalaya Expedition 2013 Diary: 7th February) POSITION: Struggling to record an uttermost easiest GPS position for the entrance to this large, old mine resulted in a set of numbers which were didactically simplified to a degree resulting in the valueless assemblage N25 23 42.2, E92 33 59.0 (anonymous Arbenz, T 2013.08.07 Mss: Meghalaya Expedition 2013 Diary: 7th February). CRATER DESCRIPTION: It were probably rather Robert Eavis, Nicholas -Nick- Tringham and Adrian Albuica than the large crater at N25 23 42.2, E92 33 59.0 which went to nothing (anonymous Arbenz, T 2013.08.07 Mss: Meghalaya Expedition 2013 Diary: 7th February). History

EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2013.02.07: Robert Eavis, Nicholas 'Nick' Tringham and Adrian Albuica attempted all on their own to run into exits from the hither world when Rob, Nicholas, [and] Adrian set off for Rucha area … and dropped down to the [Um Pyoit?] valley floor [where] … headed up the valley and made better progress to the Rucha area, on the way passing many large depressions, including a large crater at N25 23 42.2, E92 33 59.0 which went to nothing (anonymous Arbenz, T 2013.08.07 Mss: Meghalaya Expedition 2013 Diary 7th February).
