Description
(Massif de Bangou) Co-ordinates: 3°53' 15” S; 14°31°30’’ E. Altitude 350 m. Located 3.6 km from Meya village. Explored in 1961 by J.P.Adam and R.Caron (Adam et al. 1966) and in 1983 by F.Vincent. The cave has hosted a biospeleological undergound laboratory in the 1964 operated by ORSTOM (Adam et al. 1967). The cave is a large passage that carries a river. Two upper levels at the SW entrance. A study on the bat species Miniopterus minor Peters 1867, living in the cave, was published by Juste & Ibafiez (1992). Survey according to Vattier & Adam (1966).
