A group of four tiny 9th to 10th century man-made 'cave temples' (rock-cut chambers used for religious purposes), each with two cells gouged out of four single hillocks of solid laterite is situated deep in dense woodland near the village of Khandepar [note 1], 5 km north-east of Ponda [also: Cassabe de Ponda, N15°24': E074°01'] on the NH4 (ABRAM 2001: 122). IDENTITY: Item 13 of CAVES IN GOA (2002).
