Description
An angular cavelet in dolomitic marble, perhaps 2 m wide and deep but less high, is guided by fissures and bedding planes that dip by about 45° away from the rock face. The cave originates from gravitational mass wasting and is said to have been used once by a muni (sage) as a troglodyte hermitage retreat overlooking the busy flow of water and honey mooners in the deep and narrow channel of the famous Marble Rocks. SITUATION: Above the northern (orographically left) bank of the Narmada (Narbada, Nerbudda) River in the uppermost section of the –>Marble Rocks, and about halfway in the linear section below the cataracts.
