Description
Another pothole at the end of a rift … [with] a sticky mud floor … drains the cemetary area of the valley (Cowper -Cooper- 2007.02.17 Mss: Krem Wapong 3). SITUATION 1: Cowper -Cooper- (2007.02.17 Mss) puts the cave entrance at an estimated linear distance of 20 m at 067° bearing from GPS readings [note 1] but missed the chance to place the 3rd Krem Wapong in a specified spatial relation to the 1st and 2nd Krem Wapong by putting the entrance not far from Krem Wapong 2. SITUATION 2: Not too far away [from –>Dragon Hole] in the Krem Waipong [sic! also: Wapong] area and … roughly above the western end of K.L.(M).3 [Krem Labit, Moolesngi, 3rd] (Brooks, S J et al. 2007.03.01 Mss: Diary2007.doc). SITUATION 2: Brooks, S J et al. (2007.03.01 Mss: Diary2007.doc): At an unknown location without identified spatial relation with the other caves somewhere in the vicinity around the Krem Waipong area. CAVE DESCRIPTION 1, literally quoted: The pot is about 10 m x 7 m oval pot 7 m deep at the lower en through a boulder, it drops into two ways, one ends after 6 meters, the other, under the boulder continuous [continues] through a short boulder choke to the top of an aven (pitch). This also draughts strong hot steam (Cowper -Cooper- 2007.02.17 Mss: Krem Wapong 3). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2: One of three strong hot steaming draughting caves, that hopefully are near the Krem Labit Moolasgni [see: Krem –>Labit, Moolesngi 3] upstream inlet present terminus (Brooks, S J et al. 2007.03.01 Mss: Diary2007.doc). CAVE CLIMATE: Cowper -Cooper- (2007.02.17 Mss: Krem Wapong 3) noticed a comparatively warm and moist air current issuing from the entrance to Krem Wapong 3. through a boulder, it drops into two ways, one ends after 6 meters, the other, under the boulder continuous [continues] through a short boulder choke to the top of an aven (pitch). This also draughts strong hot steam (Cowper -Cooper- 2007.02.17 Mss: Krem Wapong 3). History
EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2007.02.17: Quentin 'Cooper' Cowper (2007.02.17 Mss: Krem Wapong 3) recorded a temporarily Krem Wapong 3. Brooks, S.J. (2007.03.01 Mss: Diary2007.doc) was told it was Anthony 'Tony' R Jarratt, Quentin 'Cooper' Cowper and Philippa Glanvill who went recce’ing around the Krem Waipong [sic!] area to find three strong hot steaming draughting caves [Krem Wapong 2, Krem Wapong 3, Krem Wapong 4], that hopefully are near the Krem Labit Moolasgni [i.e. Krem –>Labit Moolesngi 3] upstream inlet present terminus.
