An apparently dark cave has been registered as SI no. 162 Andarmatam Natural Cavern (note 1). ETYMOLOGY: Matam -- A college (HAMILTON, W 1828, 2: 727) and -anda- or -andha- (Sanskrit, etc) means -dark- or black. SITUATION: In the Pudukkottai district (note 2) at the locality Sembuthi (note 2), the Panchayat village of Semboothi in the Ponnamaravathi block (note 3).An apparently dark cave has been registered as SI no. 162 Andarmatam Natural Cavern (note 1).
