Description
»Two unexplored potholes exist a 1/4 mile [about 400 m] up Durbita Khal valley from the hut [note 1]. They are on the left of the valley (looking down) and 100 yards above a clunch of conspicuous polished limestone that appears to divide the valley floor. Both are blocked at the top by shepherds & the upper pot is in a small level terrace. Its worth-while pots; name them "Durbita Pots". They are at the junction of a tributary valley coming in on left« (Glennie 1946.08.01 Mss: Bodhyar area potholes). Leakey, R D (June 1946 Mss: Bodyar Pothole Map) indicates »Two unexplored Pots«
NOTE 1: For the »Durbita Khal area«, see –>Chakrata Caves.
History
EXPLORATION HISTORY: 1944 August: Edward Aubrey Glennie (1946.08.01 Mss: Bodhyar area potholes) declares to have »explored alone« -- most likely in the sense of having followed one or several unidentified »shepards« (guides at home in the area) who pointed out the location of the two potholes or, to be precise, two cave entrances.
