What McNally (2006.02.26 Mss: Krem Wapong) understood to represent a rocky shaft 10 m+ which is called Krem Wapong or Surprise Pot or Hallo! Hole if not Boring Stream Cave, characterised Brooks (undated 2006 Mss: Amendments to McNally 2006.02.26 Mss) as a surface shaft and recorded Arbenz, T (2006.05.21 Mss: Abstracts.xls) as bouldery shaft. ETYMOLOGY: The Khasi interjection -wa- denotes surprise, hallo! (SINGH, N 1906: 244) but the noun -ka wah- is a stream, a river while the verb -wah- means to suspend, to hang and the verb -pong- means to bore, to make a hole (SINGH, N 1906: 162).SITUATION 1: McNally (2006.02.26 Mss: Krem Wapong) attempts to make believe this Krem Labbit 1 (Moolesngi) could be reached by following his inadequate and incomplete but nevertheless error-stricken directions which command, literally quoted: Start at standing stones on ridge at N. 25-22-07.5 E 92-32-39.4 [note 1] head down towards cave at GPS above [note 3]. SITUATION 2: Brooks (undated 2006 Mss amendment to McNally 2006.02.26 Mss): Lumthari / Moolesngi area, N/E Shnongrim Ridge. SITUATION 3: According to the recorded GPS position N25°22'07.3”: E92°32'39.4” (±6.9 m WGS84), the first Krem Wapong lies at a distance of about 515 m in a direct line approximately WSW of Lumthari village (N25°22'12”: E92°32'57”: 1000 m asl) and ENE of Moolesngi (N25°22'02”: E92°32'22”) or 180 m and 160 m in direct lines approximately NNW of the first and second Krem Bylliat (Lumthari). CAVE DESCRIPTION 1 (McNally 2006.02.26 Mss): Rocky shaft 10 m+ holes in boulders seen below. May be shaft at east end. PROSPECTS: McNally (2006.02.26 Mss) describes the prospects of finding here cave passages suiting the tastes of sports cavers in search of recreational adventure tourism are clearly good (deleted).
