Description
A communication pair of openings (entrances) of unknown size lie opposite across each other and both give access to a man-made tunnel of unknown size, which (the tunnel) has been excavated from molassic Siwalik (also Churia) sedimentary rocks of Middle Miocene to Upper Pleistocene (CHAUHAN 2003) or Late Tertiary (GANSSER 1964) age to channel the flow of a water supply to a hydro-electric power plant: This tunnel is a water supply channel to the electricity power plant (ADHIKARI, H 2011: 16). ETYMOLOGY: Little doubt remains that the so-called electricity tunnel (ADHIKARI, H 2011: 16) is rather a water supply tunnel. This tunnel is … 20 meter from the bank of Tinau River. The tunnel is situated 350 m NW from Sidda baba Temple of Palp District and around 1 km from border of Palpa and Rupendehi District (ADHIKARI, H 2011: 16). POSITION: N27°44’3.76”: E083°27’56.73”: 200 m asl (unidentified geodetic datum, unspecified precision error, ADHIKARI, H 2011: 16). CAVE LIFE - bats (Chiroptera): Specimens of Miniopterus schreibersii (NaReCon 13.10.2009.08, NaReCon 13.10.2009.09, NaReCon 13.10.2009.10) were prepared [note 2] from the dead bats that were found from the tunnel (ADHIKARI, H 2011: 16).
