Description
An unspecified cave entrance (unidentified shape, unidentified dimensions, unidentified orientation, unidentified characteristics) is said to give access to what sportsmen diagnosed as a thrilling occurrence of unstable boulders in a relatively small (with unidentified dimensions) and sloping cave passage without identified orientation. ETYMOLOGY: The War Khasi cave name Krem Mawloi (note 1) is about the same as the standard Khasi Krem Mawleit (Cave [in the] Going / Breached Rock) and resembles what foreigner recorded as Krem Maului (Harper, Rob 2002.04.31 Mss -megahlay.doc- entry #25). SITUATION: Slavish submission to a local guide is advisable when it comes to learning the whereabouts of the entrance to this cave, which was understood to be located in working quarries to west of Shella River where the cave entrance lies up scree slope about a kilometre up road from bridge on main road and that's it (Harper 2002.04.31 Mss -megahlay.doc- entry #25). POSITION: The GPS position N25°11*$08.8”: E091°37'33.5” (WGS84) recorded for the cave entrance to Krem Maului (sic!) indicates a spot about 700 m east of Krem –>Phlankaruh.IDENTITY: Since the GPS position, which has been recorded for the cave entrance to Krem Maului (Harper 2001), indicates a spot that lies 700 m east of the true (first) Krem –>Phlankaruh (N25°11'10.7”: E091°37'08.4” WGS84), Harper's Maului is possibly identical with –>Phlankaruh Cave 3 (Lum Mawshun 2002) which is said to lie at an unspecified distance east of the mine block (LUM MAWSHUN MINERALS 2002: 64) with its eastern margin near E091°37'28” (unspecified geodetic datum probably Everest 1830, LUM MAWSHUN Pvt.
