No autochthononous, indigenous or locally known name has been identified for a rock shelter or cave called after its location »Imli Khoh« and containing unspecified rock art. ETYMOLOGY: The Hindi "imli" is the Tamarind, a tropical African tree of the pea family (Leguminosae: Tamarindus indica), cultivated throughout the tropics for its pods and also grown as an ornamental and shade tree; 2. the sticky brown acidic pulp from the pod of a Tamarind tree, widely used as a flavoring in Asian cooking. "khoh" is one of the words for a gorge, canyon, ravine, etc., but also for a cave.SITUATION: At an unspecified location somewhere in the –>Pachmarhi area (RAMAMURTHY 1988: 96 table 5 after: WAKANKAR, undated, with drawing).
