Description
Brief description and cultural history
A natural temple cave (5 m wide, up to 3 m high, and 7 m long) which came into existence by gravitational sliding of a large block. There is a spacious terrace in front of the wide open cave entrance which leads after a short distance to a steeply inclining 'floor' which actually is the bottom side of the steeply inclined crack along which the cave came to happen. CULTURAL HISTORY: Tsha-tsha are abundant in this troglodyte cave sacred to Yeshe Tsogyal / Yeshe Tsogyel (ye shes mtsho rgyal = lake wisdom princess, born 757, died 817), a consort of Guru Rinpoche –>PADMASAMBHAVA.
