Location

The cave is located at the end of a 3km long, westerly trending valley. Martin Ellis - 17/09/2019

Description

Martin Ellis - 17/09/2019

The entrance is an intermittent stream sink. The cave takes its name from a salty deposit in the valley that appears to have been excavated for its salts by large mammals. Several metres into the tall entrance fissure (2-3m wide by 15m high) the passage drops over a 6m pitch. A further 15m in there is another pitch estimated to be 35m deep. Bad air was encountered at the top of the second pitch and exploration was terminated.
