Location
The cave is located at Longkhoay village and is near Tham Loum. It is reached by another 5 minute walk from Tham Loum until some grapefruit trees are passed. History:-- The villagers mined bones at the entrance of the cave, traces of which are clearly visible for the first 30 m. It is not known for what purpose the bones were used [5158] -- The local guide told, when the village was founded, people were digging for bones here. Whoever found some could make a lot of money, selling them to the Chinese. How and why he couldn't tell. I assume, they might have been sold as "dragon bones" for chinese medicine [own notes] Explo history: --02.01.2004 explored and surveyed to 165 m by German Lao Speleological Project 2003/2004 [5158] Cave description: Citation: Analysis: [5158]: A 4 m wide and 10 m high passage leads into the mountain. It turns after 50 m to a northerly direction and ends after another 100m in a narrow squeeze without air flow. Some side passages end after only a few meters in impenetrably small cracks.
