Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 15/07/2016

A crescent shaped cave entrance (estimated to be 30 m wide and 15 m high) lies at the foot of Chhonbardau glacier (near the Italian Dhaulagiri Base Camp) in the upper reaches of the Myagdi Khola, Myagdi district. SITUATION: The cave is easiest reached from the –>Good Hope Cave by contouring on the same level. One has to stay on top of the side-moraine relics attached to the right (western) bank of Myagdi Khola and traversing (without loosing much height) for about 1 to 2 hours in a westerly direction (after Rolf Lehner 1993.01.19 Mss, 1993.02.15 personal correspondence).

History

EXPLORATION HISTORY: 1992, late August: Werner Busch and Rolf Lehner observed and photographed the entrance (Lehner 1993.01.19, 1993.02.15 Mss personal correspondence). Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 15/07/2016
