Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018

A 3 m diameter cave entrance gives access to an estimated 9.5 m long solution cave passage (Brooks 1997 Mss: Pakistan Cave Database; BOYCOTT & DOWSWELL 1998). ETYMOLOGY: Titran is said to arrive from the English noun train because the -gorge- (gap?) lies somewhere on the (abandoned?) Spezand - Nushki railway line. SITUATION: Somewhere on the northern tip of the Kumbelang Ridge at the north-eastern flank of Zen mountain. APPROACH: To reach the cave, Brooks (1997 Mss: Pakistan Cave Database) recommends to leave the Quetta - Nishpa - Mastung Road some 300 m short of reaching the summit of –>Lak Pass. Take an unmetalled road (track) to a left-hand side without orientation (east). Follow the track or road (note 1) along the base of an obvious ridge (note 2) to right. Continue around a spur until the gorge Titran Ghar is met. In the late 1990ies, Titran Ghar (not the gorge but the hill) had electrical pilons on it. At the mouth the gorge, an obvious cave entrance is visible on the left-handwall.wall.
