Smaller Eastern Codzo Cave

Codzo village, Codzo zone, Cheringoma district, Sofala province, 34°52'55"E: 18°33'10' N (GPS WGS84), ca. 230 m asl. Surveyed on 3 Sept. 1998 by Herbert Daniel Gebauer, Adriano Germano and Michael Laumanns (BCRA-Grade 4b). Length: 40 m. Vertical range: -9,5 m. Access see Eastern Codzo Cave above. Both entrances are less than 100 m away from each other. A collapse doline gives access to a small rift passage (SW-NE) at a level of about 4 - 5 m below the surface. Soil filled crawls were not pushed to a conclusion because of a small probably poisonous Snake. No bats, no guano and no calcite formations.
