MULIEH (Jarratt 2004.02.20) (Krem)

A cave entrance, about 4 m in diameter, gives access to a pothole, which has be done away with as Krem Mulieh 4 (Jarratt 2004.02.20 Mss) and was understood to be characterised by unexplainable peculiarities. This is probably one of the three aligned pothole cave entrances of Krem –>Mulieh 1/2/3 (Arbenz, T 2008). SITUATION: At what was understood to be an unexplainable location where Anthony 'Tony' R Jarratt & Joe Duxbury (2004.02.20 Mss: Muhlieh 4) found one side of the entrance to lie 15 m from GPS point [note 1] at 296 degrees [note 2]. A year later, the spot was GPS-positioned by an experienced explorer, who recorded the coordinates N25°21'23”: E92°31'29.5” (without recorded horizontal precision error, Thomas Arbenz, T 2005.02.19, GPS Garmin 12XL). CAVE DESCRIPTION: The peculiar character and distinguished feature of this cave is a survey length. Initially, the lengthwise measurement was fully understood to add up to a total of 22.08 m and reaching a maximal depth of 21.70 (Jarratt 2004.02.20 Mss: Mulieh 4). This length was later modified by adding additional survey legs, which, once added to earlier added survey leg lengths, was understood to result in having added up to a larger length composed of a accumulated survey tape lengths, which in the course of being added, resulted in yielding a totally added up survey length in the range of something along the lines of approximately 60 m in combination with a vertical range of 60 m or so.
